Sounders FC

Daily coverage of Seattle Sounders FC, MLS and world soccer.

April 12, 2014 at 3:33 PM

Final: Sounders FC 3, FC Dallas 2, live chat

Update: The Sounders won, 3-2, behind two more goals from Clint Dempsey, including a 85th-minute winner. Seattle improves to 3-2-1 and hands FC Dallas its first loss of the season.

Join me for a live chat during Sounders FC’s road game at 5:30 p.m. against Western Conference-leading FC Dallas. Seattle has gone 1-0-1 away from home but is facing the top-scoring team in MLS.

Sounders FC lineup: GK Stefan Frei, D DeAndre Yedlin, D Chad Marshall, D Djimi Traore, D Leo Gonzalez, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Gonzalo Pineda, M Kenny Cooper, M Lamar Neagle, F Clint Dempsey, F Obafemi Martins

Sounders FC bench: GK Marcus Hahnemann, D Jalil Anibaba, D Dylan Remick, M Marco Pappa, M Michael Azira, F/M Sean Okoli, F Chad Barrett

Note: This is another lineup for the Sounders who start their first-choice defense for the first time this season. Djimi Traore returns from suspension (replacing Jalil Anibaba) and Leo Gonzalez makes his second start. Lamar Neagle also comes back into the starting lineup as Michael Azira is dropped. I expect the formation will look like a 4-2-3-1 with Obafemi Martins up high, Clint Dempsey behind him and Kenny Cooper and Neagle on the wings. Ex-Sounder Adam Moffat is on the bench for Dallas.
