Sounders FC vs. Chivas USA, pregame

CARSON, Calif.—Welcome to the StubHub Center, where it’s a beautiful for tonight’s game against the Sounders and Chivas USA.

Seattle is looking to stay undefeated on the road (2-0-1) and cap a three-game road trip with a win before three straight at home. Chivas has looked better this year but is still on a five-game winless streak since winning its opener.

The Sounders, if you missed an earlier post, haven’t lost to Chivas USA since the summer of 2009, a 9-0-4 run in all competitions, including six consecutive wins.

The visitors are expected to get a boost in the squad today with the return of Brad Evans from a calf injury. I’ll posts lineups below when they become available.

Sounders FC lineup: GK Stefan Frei, D DeAndre Yedlin, D Chad Marshall, D Djimi Traore, D Leo Gonzalez, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Gonzalo Pineda, M Lamar Neagle, M Marco Pappa, F Obafemi Martins, F Clint Dempsey

Sounders FC bench: GK Marcus Hahnemann, D Zach Scott, D Dylan Remick, M Micheal Azira, M Brad Evans, F Chad Barrett, F Kenny Cooper

Chivas USA lineup: GK Dan Kennedy, D Eric Avila, D Carlos Bocanegra, D Bobby Burling, D Andrew Jean-Baptiste, M Mauro Rosales, M Marky Delgado, M Carlos Alvarez, M Agustin Pelletieri, M Leandro Barrera, F Erick Torres

Chivas USA bench: GK Tim Melia, M Oswaldo Minda, F Donny Toia, F Kris Tyrpak, F Luke Moore, D Michael Nwiloh, F Adolfo Bautista

NOTES: Sounders listed in a 4-4-2 as Kenny Cooper is dropped from the lineup and Marco Pappa makes his first start since Week 2. Brad Evans is back on the Sounders bench after missing four games with a calf injury. Zach Scott looks to have jumped past Jalil Anibaba on the depth chart. Andy Rose not available despite coach Sigi Schmid saying he is healthy enough for consideration coming back from the hamstring injury. Mauro Rosales, of course, starting for Chivas.
