Sounders FC vs. Vancouver, pregame

VANCOUVER, B.C.—Welcome to BC Place, where we’ve just watched the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. We’ll have another rivalry game coming up at 4 p.m. — albeit with much less on the line — as the Whitecaps host visiting Sounders FC.

This will be the 133rd soccer meeting between Seattle and Vancouver, with a 63-48-21 advantage being held by the Americans.

A big question for the Sounders is what role Brad Evans will play, if any, coming back from USMNT camp. Another concern is Lamar Neagle‘s hamstring, though indications were Friday that maybe he’ll sit this one out.

Whitecaps injury to watch is Darren Mattocks, who isn’t expected to be available, also with a hamstring.

Vancouver has won their last two games and hold the Cascadia Cup. Seattle has won six of seven and is atop the MLS table. Should be a good one.

I’ll post lineups below when they become available.

Sounders FC lineup: GK Stefan Frei, D Jalil Anibaba, D Zach Scott, D Djimi Traore, D Leo Gonzalez, M Chad Barrett, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Gonzalo Pineda, M Marco Pappa, F Obafemi Martins, F Kenny Cooper

Sounders FC bench: GK Marcus Hahnemann, D Dylan Remick, M Andy Rose, M Micheal Azira, M Brad Evans, F/M Tristan Bowen, F Cam Weaver

Vancouver lineup: GK David Ousted, D Nigel Reo-Coker, D Andy O’Brien, D Jay DeMerit, D Jordan Harvey, M Gershon Koffie, M Matias Laba, M Sebastian Fernandez, M Pedro Morales, M Kekuta Manneh, F Erik Hurtado

Vancouver bench: GK Paolo Tornaghi, F Darren Mattocks, D Johnny Leveron, F Omar Salgado, D Carlyle Mitchell, M Nicolas Mezquida, M Russell Teibert
