Obviously the international absences will weigh heavy on this huge game in MLS.

The injury report is pretty straightforward for the Sounders, and coach Sigi Schmid gave a positive update on forward/midfielder Lamar Neagle (hamstring) and defender Chad Marshall on Friday.

“Both of them got through practice yesterday fine and were able to participate in full at practice today, so I think they’re both fine,” Schmid said.

Also, here are some updates on Kevin Parsemain and Damion Lowe, each dealing with more long-term injuries.

“They’re both ahead of schedule,” Schmid said. “Lowe’s surgery involved a little bit more than originally anticipated, so that’s why the timeline was pushed back a little bit. … I was checking with (head trainer Randy Noteboom) today, he’s working with both, and they’re both ahead of schedule. Parsemain is ready to start running; he’s just waiting for the doctor to clear him to start running. Lowe will start running I think beginning tomorrow. On the field tomorrow or Monday, he’ll be out on the field running.”

For Real Salt Lake, forward Alvaro Saborio will be rejoining the team after breaking his foot while preparing for the World Cup with the Costa Rican national team. A tough blow, but his absence was expected this weekend in one way or another.

The forward position is pretty thin for RSL, as Joao Plata also isn’t expected to play. A couple other key guys in Devon Sandoval (foot) and Robbie Findley (knee) could be available, but they also have been working back from injury.
