Sounders FC vs. Real Salt Lake, pregame

It’s a wonderful day in Seattle for a wonderful matchup in MLS.

Sounders FC hosts Real Salt Lake at 1 p.m., a game featuring the two top teams in points and goals scored leaguewide. RSL (6-0-6) is also looking to become the first team to go unbeaten in its first 13 games of the season.

Seattle, for its part, is looking to win its fifth straight at home.

Obviously this game is featuring a lot of guys called up to the U.S. national team for the World Cup preparation (Clint Dempsey, Kyle Beckerman, Nick Rimando, DeAndre Yedlin) plus some guys injured (Alvaro Saborio, Joao Plata, Djimi Traore).

One other thing to look for is if the Sounders make a change at goalkeeper, which seemed to be at least in the discussion earlier in the week.

I’ll post the lineups below when they become available.

Sounders FC lineup: GK Stefan Frei, D Brad Evans, D Chad Marshall, D Zach Scott, D Leo Gonzalez, M Lamar Neagle, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Gonzalo Pineda, M Marco Pappa, F Chad Barrett, F Obafemi Martins

Sounders FC bench: GK Marcus Hahnemann, D Dylan Remick, D Jalil Anibaba, M Andy Rose, M Micheal Azira, M Kenny Cooper, F Cam Weaver

Real Salt Lake lineup: GK Jeff Attinella, D Tony Beltran, D Aaron Maund, D Nat Borchers, D Chris Wingert, M Cole Grossman, M Luke Mulholland, M Ned Grabavoy, M Javier Morales, F Devon Sandoval, F Olmes Garcia

Real Salt Lake bench: GK Eduardo Fernandez; D Abdoulie Mansally, D Rich Balchan, D Carlos Salcedo, M John Stertzer, M Luis Gil, F Robbie Findley

NOTES: Frei stays the starting goalkeeper. Evans comes in at right back. Neagle (hamstring) and Marshall (illness) return after missing last game. Barrett gets his first start at forward.
