Sounders would host fifth-round game in Open Cup if they advance

U.S. Soccer has revealed the hosting scenarios for the fifth round of the U.S. Open Cup, and the results were favorable for the Sounders if they advance past amateur team PSA Elite in the fourth round — a game to be played at Starfire Stadium on June 18.

Here are the scenarios are determined by a coin flip (full schedule here):

— Sounders would host the San Jose Earthquakes on June 24-25 (to be determined) at 7 p.m. at Starfire Stadium.

— Sounders would host the Sacramento Republic of the third-tier USL PRO on June 24 at 7 p.m. at Starfire Stadium.

San Jose and Sacramento will face off in a fourth-round game June 11 at Kezar Stadium. Both of those teams would host PSA Elite if there is what would be an epic defeat by the Sounders.

The tournament’s quarterfinals are set for July 8-9.
