My MLS power rankings: Week 13

Posted below are my MLS power rankings, and here are links to other rankings from Soccer America, MLSsoccer.com, ESPN.com and SI.com. Everyone I’ve seen has the Sounders No. 1 after Saturday’s big win against Real Salt Lake.

Rank Team Comment
1. (3) Sounders FC Deservedly back at No. 1 after 4-0 win against one of league’s best, plus a 7-1-1 streak.
2. (1) New England High-flying offense that scored 16 goals in five straight wins went missing in Montreal.
3. (4) Vancouver Cascadia Cup holder has the early lead in this year’s race after a wild 4-3 win in Portland.
4. (2) Real Salt Lake Came to Seattle unbeaten and looking for MLS history, left humbled with four-goal loss.
5. (6) Colorado Deshorn Brown scored twice in 3-0 win, but Kamani Hill’s back-heel was the highlight.
6. (7) D.C. United Cross or shot? Only Fabian Espindola knows for sure, but it looked nice whatever it was.
7. (9) Toronto FC Add two more goals to Jermain Defoe’s total: he has six, plus an assist, in seven games.
8. (8) L.A. Galaxy Nice to see Robbie Rogers making plays again, as he set up Goal 137 for Landon Donovan.
9. (5) Sporting K.C. The defending champs are winless in five and just sold Oriol Rosell to Sporting Lisbon.
10. (12) San Jose A 35-yard blast from midfielder Jean-Baptiste Pierazzi might’ve been Goal of the Week.
11. (10) FC Dallas Collapsing midway through the season after a fast start? We’ve seen this movie before.
12. (11) Houston All bad these days with three shutout losses in a row amid a 299-minute scoring drought.
13. (14) Chicago Competitive when MVP Mike Magee plays (1.38 PPG) but struggles without him (0.50).
14. (16) Portland Reportedly pursuing EPL veteran Joleon Lescott; no surprise having conceded 24 goals.
15. (13) Columbus Ethan Finlay has been a recent bright spot with two goals, assist over his last three games
16. (15) N.Y. Red Bulls Surely noticed rival NYCFC, which arrives in 2015, has already signed star David Villa.
17. (18) Philadelphia Conor Casey had one goal in his previous 19 games before scoring twice over the weekend.
18. (19) Montreal Will its worst-over-first win against the Revs spark a midseason surge up the standings?
19. (17) Chivas USA Performance was dreadful in two home losses. Attendance of 3,702 Wednesday was worse.
