Reign FC’s game last week, a 3-2 home win against the Chicago Red Stars, was a physical one. Too physical at times.
There was an especially violent play in the second half that was punished Friday, as Chicago’s Julianne Sitch has been suspended two games by the NWSL Disciplinary Committee for “excessive force” in the form of a vicious elbow on Seattle captain Keelin Winters.
According to the release, Sitch will sit out the Red Stars’ next two matches in which she is available to play.
