The World Cup round of 16 is set, and the U.S. men’s national team will face Belgium in a knockout game at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Funny how these two teams were set to play a closed-door scrimmage before the tournament, but it was ultimately canceled due to traffic concerns.
Anyway, here is the round of 16 schedule.
* * *
Brazil vs. Chile (Saturday, 9 a.m.)
Colombia vs. Uruguay (Saturday, 1 p.m.)
Netherlands vs. Mexico (Sunday, 9 a.m.)
Costa Rica vs. Greece (Sunday, 1 p.m.)
France vs. Nigeria (Monday, 9 a.m.)
Germany vs. Algeria (Monday, 1 p.m.)
Argentina vs. Switzerland (Tuesday, 9 a.m.)
Belgium vs. USA (Tuesday, 1 p.m.)
Also, Sounders FC and the Seattle chapters of the American Outlaws will co-host a viewing party for USA-Belgium at the CenturyLink Field Event Center. Admission is free and doors open at 11 a.m.
According to an AO Seattle member, there will likely be food and a beer garden.
