If you haven’t had your fill of Sounders FC players on national television, Clint Dempsey has you covered. A week after DeAndre Yedlin made appearances on Good Morning America, SportsCenter, CNN and the “Today” Show, Dempsey is set to visit The Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday night.
The show starts at 11:35 p.m. PT and airs on CBS.
Dempsey, this year’s national team captain, has scored in three straight World Cups, the first American to do so. That scoring included a goal 30 seconds into the United States’ first match against Ghana. It was the fastest the U.S. had ever scored in a World Cup game, and the fifth fastest in World Cup history.
Along with Obafemi Martins, Dempsey leads the Sounders this year with eight goals. He is also first on the team in shots (43) and third in shots on goal (17).
According to Sounders coach Sigi Schmid, Dempsey will be back to practice by the end of this week. He will also be available for Seattle’s match against Portland Sunday at CenturyLink Field.
