Tottenham Hotspur has emerged as a frontrunner to land Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin, who would stay in Seattle through the rest of 2014, according to a Wednesday morning tweet from ESPN’s Taylor Twellman.
Hearing Spurs have jumped ahead of everyone else in Yedlin sweepstakes. He'd stay in Seattle for 2014 before joining Tottenham.

Transfer talks had cooled around Yedlin after spiking in the immediate aftermath of the World Cup, with a much-discussed move to Roma still yet to materialize. The young defender has been ambivalent when discussing the possibility during All-Star Week in Portland.
For those looking to judge the legitimacy of the report, this wouldn’t be the first time Twellman broke major United States soccer news: He first reported on Landon Donovan’s omission from the USMNT’s World Cup roster back in May.
Further details will be reported as they emerge.
