Seattle Reign midfielder Kim Little was recognized Thursday as the winner of the NWSL Golden Boot as the league’s leading scorer this season.
Little, who was named NWSL player of the month three times, led the league with 16 goals in 23 games and finished tied for second in assists, with seven.
She also memorably added the final tally to the Reign’s 5-0 victory over rival Portland during stoppage time.
“It just goes to show that we’re not stopping,” teammate Keelin Winters said of the goal Thursday after training at Memorial Stadium. “… We’re trying to be ruthless.”
Seattle hosts Washington in the semifinal round of the NWSL playoffs Sunday night at 8 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
