UW, Seattle U to face off in NCAA tournament rematch Thursday

The No. 4 University of Washington men’s soccer team hosts cross-town rival and No. 22 Seattle University on Thursday night at Husky Soccer Field in a rematch of last season’s meeting in the second round of the NCAA Tournament — one the Huskies won 4-2 in front of 3,100.

Thursday’s match — scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff — marks the first time both rivals have been ranked since Seattle U. returned to Division I in 2009.

It also marks the first meeting between the Roldan brothers. UW sophomore Cristian was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year last season, while Alex is a freshman midfielder with the Redhawks.

Both teams enter the night unbeaten, Seattle U. at 2-0-0 and Washington at 1-0-0.
