The news first broke at last weekend’s annual Alliance business meeting, but Friday morning, the club made it official: Roger Levesque has been named the Sounders’ new director of community outreach.
The former Sounders forward played for nearly six seasons with the club during its minor league days and more than three more after it bumped up to Major League Soccer until 2012.
“I feel very fortunate to be back involved with Sounders FC, especially on the community side,” said Levesque. “My last couple years of playing it was a huge part of my time within the club, and now that I’m joining the team in an official capacity, I look forward to growing that impact in the name of the Sounders FC organization.”
As director, Levesque will work with five already existing community partners while assisting on future plans.
