Portland Timbers headline busy half-day MLS trade window

Portland made a quartet of roster moves during Monday’s half-day MLS trade window, one that opened at 6 a.m. Pacific time and closed at 10 in advance of Wednesday’s expansion draft, while Seattle stayed pat.

The Timbers first confirmed a pair of moves that had been rumored since last week, adding veteran defender Nat Borchers in a trade with Real Salt Lake and signing Ghanaian national team goalkeeperĀ Adam Larsen-Kwarasey on a free transfer. Portland then announced a pair of new acquisitions: Colombian attackerĀ Dairon Asprilla and Brazilian defenderĀ Jeanderson Salvador Pereira.

Expansion club Orlando City was also active in the window, most notably adding defender Aurelien Collin in a trade with Sporting Kansas City for allocation money and future considerations.

For a full roundup of the day’s news, Jonathan Tannenwald was a comprehensive list over at Philly.com, while the league has a running ticker up on its website.
