UW senior Andy Thoma snags invite to MLS combine — Darwin Jones does not

University of Washington midfielder/defender Andy Thoma is one of 55 graduating seniors who have been invited to the 2015 MLS Combine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from Jan. 8-13.

Thoma started 19 games for the Huskies this season, notching two assists and helping UW to the final 16 of the NCAA tournament.

A notable absence from the list was fellow UW senior Darwin Jones — likely because he says he’s nearing a homegrown player contact with the Sounders will be thus be eligible to skip the SuperDraft process altogether.

“That’s going to be my route within the next few weeks,” Jones said on Wednesday.
