No Sounders on U.S. roster for CONCACAF U-20 qualifying

No Sounders were among the six Major League Soccer players on the United States under-20 men’s national team roster released Monday ahead of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, which begins Friday.

Tommy Thompson of the San Jose Earthquakes and Kellyn Acosta of FC Dallas made the cut, as did L.A.’s Bradford Jamieson, NYRB’s Matt Miazga, Orlando’s Tyler Turner and Columbus’ Romain Gall.

New Seattle signing Victor Mansaray had been called into the U.S.’ U-18 national team for its December camp.

2015 is a busy year for the U.S. national team program, at both the senior and youth levels. The Gold Cup and U-20 and U-17 World Cups all take place this year, as do the first steps toward the 2016 Olympics.

Below is the full roster for the U-20s:

D: Cameron Carter-Vickers (Tottenham Hotspur/ENG); Conor Donovan (NC State); Matt Miazga (New York Red Bulls); Shaquell Moore (Unattached); John Requejo (Club Tijuana/MEX); Tyler Turner (Orlando City)
