Seattle rapper Macklemore, who dazzled viewers on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night with a crisp rendition of “White Walls,” has reached yet another pinnacle. His album, “The Heist,” has gone platinum (one million sales).

Macklemore acknowledged his fans earlier today in a serial tweet that read: “11 months after we put out our debut album The Heist independently, the album in officially platinum. I NEVER thought that I’d be able to  say that. Thank you to all the people that have made this album what it is.  You were our record label when we had none. You made the media pay attention to what we were doing.  Straight up. I’m overwhelmed by what has transpired in this last year. Places I never thought our music would reach. I have #sharkfacegang to thank. Love to you all.”
