Best and worst band name of the month

Anyone who has ever played in a band knows that coming up with a name is one of the hardest parts. If you doubt that, just look at the listings in The Seattle Times each week. We do. Whew!

Some of these names are just, well, really dumb! On the other hand, some are wonderfully creative. Though it’s borderline offensive, I love the Denver band name, Tequila Mockingbird. On the other hand, the folks who named their band Boat — have they ever searched for their site on the Internet? Boat? Really?

All of which is by way of announcing our latest SoundPosts feature:

Stupidest and Most Creative Band Name of the Month!

We’re guessing you have some nominations for this dubious award, so please don’t hesitate to send in your ideas on the SoundPosts comments thread. We welcome them.

And now, what you’ve all been waiting for: The winners for September are…
