The National’s moody Americana at Paramount | Concert preview

(Deirdre O’Callaghan)

(Deirdre O’Callaghan)

It’s appropriate that The National comes to Seattle for shows Thursday and Friday at the Paramount just as the weather shifts; their music is best enjoyed on overcast days. The band has been together 14 years, and its last few albums of rootsy Americana have been hits with critics and music fans. The latest, “Trouble Will Find Me,” is the best yet, but also an apt title for the band’s moody lyrics.

The National

7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 and 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 at the Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St., Seattle; $36.75 (877-784-4849 or www.stgpresents.org).
