Washington Comedy Festival to host local talent showcase

The Washington Comedy Festival will take place on April 26 at the Performing Art Center of Wenatchee.

The Washington Comedy Festival will take place on April 26 at the Performing Art Center of Wenatchee.

Comedian Billy Anderson will host a two-day talent showcase at 8 p.m. on Sunday and Monday at Jai Thai on Broadway for comedians seeking a chance to perform at the Washington Comedy Festival.

Each night 16 local comedians will perform five minutes of material for an audience of comedy fans, bookers and festival producers. Selected comedians will be invited to participate in the festival, which will take place on April 26 at the Performing Art Center of Wenatchee.

Headlining the festival will be Rory Scovel and Derek Sheen. Submissions for the festival can also be made online. Comedians selected will be competing for $1,000 in prizes as well as the opportunity to perform in front of industry judges Dylan Gadino (Laugh Spin), Clayton Weller (Sketchfest Seattle) and Charlene Conley (BridgetownComedy Festival).
