Seattle’s favorite folk singer, Damien Jurado, soul singer Charles Bradley and J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. lead a packed Timber! Outdoor Music Festival 2014. Festival organizers released the first batch of artists, including hip-hop trio The Physics and Grynch this morning as the festival is set to return July 24-26 to Carnation, Wash.
Timber! is the brainchild of organizer Kevin Sur, who launched the festival last summer to great success. Part of that success was providing a bevy of impressive bands, including Quasi, Helio Sequence and Fruit Bats, but equally important was the chill family vibe at Tolt-MacDonald Park.
“Last year at Timber!, we created a lot of different options in terms of activities and had a really diverse lineup, which allowed every concertgoer to choose their own adventure when it came to experiencing the festival,” Sur said. “Everybody who came was able to experience the festival at their own pace and in their own way.”
The festival will build off last year by adding an extra day. Artists such as Rocky Votolato, Smokey Brights, Mikey and Matty and Lonsesome Shack have already been announced, with Sur promising more bands will be coming soon.
Tickets are $65 and children under 12 enter free. Tickets go on sale Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. Festival camping is available for $30 per tent for three nights, while a very limited amount of premium camping spots and RV campsites are available for between $350-$400.
