’80s New Wave pioneers New Order to play Paramount | Concert preview

New Order, formed in 1980, pioneered a blend of post-punk and synth-pop, creating huge dance-floor anthems, including “Bizarre Love Triangle” and “Blue Monday.”

The band currently features founding members Bernard Sumner (pictured), Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert along with Phil Cunningham and Tom Chapman, who replaced original bassist Peter Hook in 2011.
