The ex-Beatle with the best name stops by Woodinville for his summer tour after celebrating his July 7 birthday in L.A.
He turned 74 this month, but age hasn’t changed the endearingly awkward dance moves, fondness for sunglasses or scraggly mustache. Since his youth with the Beatles, Ringo has become an artist in so many senses of the word — for this tour he’s bringing a series of self-portraits to several cities (too bad Woodinville’s not one of them).
Ringo will be joined by his All Starr Band, with members Steve Lukather of Toto, Gregg Rolie of Santana (playing White River Aug. 1), Todd Rundgren, Gregg Bissonette, Richard Page of Mr. Mister, all of whom Ringo has been playing with since 2012. Recent addition Warren Ham will replace Mark Rivera.
This is the 12th version of Ringo’s punnily-named backing band, which has had a rotating lineup since 1989. Expect covers of Beatles classics such as “With A Little Help From My Friends” and “Yellow Submarine” as well as solo hits such as 1971’s “It Don’t Come Easy” and 1973’s “Photograph.”
