Chvrches: Haunting, innocent indie-electro | Concert preview

This explosive Scottish trio — Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty — hit the sweet spot between electronica and pop with last year’s single “The Mother We Share,” then more than lived up to expectations with its debut album, “The Bones of What You Believe,” which hung on the Billboard album charts for six months, peaking at No. 12.

Cook’s and Doherty’s svelte electronics are smart, but Mayberry’s haunting yet somehow innocently offhand voice cutting through the din carries the band, earning it two nights in Seattle’s largest nightclub.

Chvrches

9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Aug. 7-8, at Showbox SoDo, 1700 First Ave. S., Seattle; $30 advance (800-745-3000 or www.showboxonline.com).
