Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett, U2 to play Vancouver, B.C., not Seattle | Ticket alert

Has your passport expired? If you’re a music lover, best take care of that. Two major tours have just announced they will stop across the border in Vancouver, B.C., but not in Seattle. That’s right. Rock superstars U2 and the cross-generational juggernaut of Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga both land in Vancouver in May, 2015. Both acts play two nights and the shows are the inaugural dates of their respective tours.

Touring behind its album “Songs of Experience,” U2 performs Thursday and Friday, May 14-15, 2015, at Rogers Arena. Tickets for the 19-city tour go on sale Monday, Dec. 8 (time and prices TBA) from Ticketmaster (800-845-3000 or ticketmaster.com).

Bennett and Gaga, whose “Cheek to Cheek” album grew out of their collaboration on Bennett’s “Duets” recordings, perform Monday and Tuesday, May 25-26, 2015, at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, from Northern Tickets (855-551-9747 or northerntickets.com).

Those planning to see Bennett and Gaga should note that the opening show is on Memorial Day and coincides with the weekend of Sasquatch! and the Northwest Folklife Festival.
