Santosh Sharma, a junior in the Roosevelt High School Jazz Band, has been selected to perform in the 2015 Grammy Band. This marks the second year a Roosevelt student has been chosen for this exclusive group. Last year, trumpeter John Otten made the cut.

Sharma has won soloist awards at the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Essentially Ellington and other festivals.

The Grammy Band is sponsored by the Grammy Foundation, part of the Recording Academy, which presents the Grammy awards.

The Grammy Band is a part of whirlwind week in Los Angeles called Grammy Camp involving 32 students in vocal and instrumental music. The groups perform at various events associated with the awards.
