From the late 1930s through the early 1950s, Seattle’s Jackson Street was a thriving hub for jazz, where Quincy Jones, Ernestine Anderson and Ray Charles — among others — performed on a regular basis.

The jazz scene has long since migrated to other neighborhoods. But thanks to an enterprising neighborhood organization called Jackson Street Commons, jazz returns to Jackson Street Saturday, April 5, with the Jackson Street Jazz Walk, a free showcase along this fabled avenue.
