It’s July 25, and country duo Big and Rich is in the studio working on its new album. Kenny Alphin, who goes by Big Kenny on stage, can’t contain his excitement over the as-yet-untitled project.

“We’re secretly mastering some new songs today. We’ve been going at it for the last two months, recording and writing everything on the go,” Alphin said. “We’re super excited about putting out new music. We just keep notching it up a level. Just awesome songs.”

Alphin said that fans who make it up to the Comcast Arena in Everett for their show Friday will see the band uncork a new number or two, plus plenty of hits.

“You can expect a high-energy show like no other,” Alphin said. “We bring a lot of fun to the stage. We always know we’re going to throw the hits in there, and we’re going to give it something that’ll make it a memorable evening you’ll never forget.”
