Seattle’s Eckstein Middle School Band

Those Seattle jazz kids did it again at the Reno Jazz Festival this past Thursday-Saturday, April 10-12, with Eckstein Middle School sweeping the major categories and picking up multiple individual awards. The Eckstein outfit is conducted by Cuauhtemoc “Moc” Escobedo.

Eckstein Middle School jazzers score in Monterey

Student jazz players from Eckstein Middle School, Seattle’s “feeder” school for the fabled Roosevelt High School Jazz Band, were recognized last weekend in California at the Next Generation Jazz Festival, an educational program of the Monterey Jazz Festival.
