Seattle sports’ wacky week: What was the biggest downer?

Last week was full of surprises in Seattle sports.

The week was framed by Washington State’s 41-38 football loss to Rutgers in its season opener at CenturyLink Field on Thursday and Washington’s equally troubling 17-16 victory at Hawaii on Saturday.

The Seahawks lost their exhibition finale to the Raiders on Thursday and had to make some difficult cuts Saturday, including quarterback Terrelle Pryor, running back Spencer Ware, offensive lineman Stephen Schilling and wide receiver/returner Bryan Walters.

Oh, and the Mariners struggled, falling behind in the wild-card standings as Felix Hernandez served up home runs and their bats stayed mostly silent. And don’t forget the bizarre suspension of M’s former prospect Jesus Montero after he got into an altercation with a higher-level Mariners scout in a minor-league game.

You can’t make this stuff up.

So which of those strange developments is the biggest downer in Seattle sports. That’s our Take 2 poll for Sunday.
