Seattle’s past and present sports media darlings make appearances in a new Nike ad.
Ken Griffey Jr., the former Mariners superstar, is shown at a diner counter reading a newspaper (not The Seattle Times) with a headline that touts Richard Sherman as “Seattle’s best athlete ever”.
“Who’s this Richard Sherman,” he asks a kid sitting next to him.
The retort from that kid to “The Kid” is hilarious, and so are the reactions of others in the diner, but I don’t want to give the punchline away. It’s a short video, but worth watching.
Sherman, one of several Seahawks to take the national center stage during and after their Super Bowl run, also appears at the end of the video.
