Lockdown ends at Seattle elementary school

There is not points to locate on the map

A lockdown at John Hay Elementary School has ended, according to Seattle police.

Police are questioning two teenagers who were seen near the school carrying Air Soft rifles.

While Air Soft rifles are not dangerous, the teens provided a scare because at least one onlooker thought they were carrying real weapons. That resident called police, which dispatched SWAT units, spokesman Sean Whitcomb said.

John Hay was locked down as the police searched for the teens. It has since been reopened.

A third teen may also have been involved.

It is not a crime to have an Air Soft rifle unless it is used in a threatening manner, Whitcomb said.
