Update: Glorious sunrise over the Cascades

The sky above the Cascade Mountains is painted in October hues in this view from Kenmore this morning (Mike Siegel / The Seattle Times).
A rather clear morning in October can make for some spectacular sunrises and Seattle Times photographer Mike Siegel was out early today to snap this beautiful one.
But by 10 a.m., the skies were Autumn gray and this afternoon we could have some rain. Looking at the forecast for tomorrow, there could be sun and there’s little chance of rain. That then means another chance for a beautiful sunrise. Keep your eyes peeled, but don’t do it while you’re driving.
The days are getting shorter, of course: Sunrise today: 7:45 a.m.; Sunset tonight: 5:59 p.m. Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 a.m.
We’re sure you noticed how cold it was this morning. The temperature dipped to 37 degrees. That shouldn’t be the case tomorrow morning with a low in the 40s. And you’ve probably noticed that the highs aren’t getting out of the 50s either. Thank your lucky stars, though. In Yakima, the temperature overnight dropped to 27 degrees.
