Service, memorial for Marysville teen killed in crash

A funeral service for Juan Mendoza, the Marysville teen killed Monday in a car crash, will be held Friday.

The service begins at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 88th and State Avenue, Marysville, according to the Marysville School District.

Mendoza, 16, a student at Marysville Getchell High School, died after the Honda Civic he was driving crashed into a tree. Two other students in the car were injured.

On Nov. 8, a student-led memorial and celebration of life will be held at the school gym. Friends, family, staff and others are invited.

In addition, a memorial fund has been set up. Contributions can be made at Home Street Bank, 1238 State Avenue.
