Teen killed, two injured in crash near Marysville

There is not points to locate on the map

A teen-age driver was killed and two others injured Monday when the driver lost control of a car and struck a tree near Marysville.

The accident happened at about 2:20 p.m. in the 8100 block of 108th Street Northeast in unincorporated Marysville.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said the car, a Honda Civic, was headed west on 108th Street when the driver, a male teenager, apparently lost control. He died at the scene.

Two passengers – both teen males — were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. One is in critical condition; the other suffered serious but non-life-threatening issues, Hover said.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, Hover said.

In a news release Monday night, the Marysville School District said the teen who died was a student Bio Med Academy. One of the injured students is a Bio Med Academy student and the other goes to School for the Entrepreneur, the release said.

A crisis team of counselors will be at the Marysville Getchell Campus on Tuesday for students and staff. Counselors will also be at the Marysville Pilchuck Campus, the district release said. They will remain at the schools as long as they are needed.
