The Morning Memo / Tuesday: Sun, a special house call, Amanda Knox

Weather: Yes, sun today! Could be a tad wet tomorrow, but we’ll take a bit of October sun any day. Wet tomorrow afternoon, but Thursday, ah, Thursday might be another sunny day. October can be ugly, gray and wet, bleh, but when it’s nice, it’s very nice.  The details.

Traffic: What’s the flap over Viadoom? OK, it made for some testy drivers in the evening commute yesterday, but the morning traffic wasn’t too bad. Let’s hope it’s tolerable both directions today. Would you agree that this hasn’t been as bad as feared? OK, maybe not. The maps and cams.

Speaking of Viadoom, there’s a news conference this morning by the state Transportation Department on construction progress and demolition and a recap of Monday’s commutes. We’ll be there.

Another Amanda Knox story… KING5 says this morning that reports of a $12 million suit by the parents of Meredith Kercher, who was killed in the apartment she shared with Knox, are bogus.

A touching story this morning by columnist Nicole Brodeur on a special house call for a Seattle teen.

What happening with Occupy Seattle? Viadoom made headlines all day yesterday, and last weekend we barely heard a peep from the Occupy folks. And now there’s noise about the movement moving to Seattle Central Community College. See our news partner, Capitol Hill Seattle Blog’s story about that.

Stories you might want to read this morning: A dog, a deer and a gator.
