At Jane Hague party parking lot, some nice rides

What’s in a parking lot? Lots, as an index to a candidate’s pool of supporters, and this may be the first time the Juanita Pub has hosted an Audi, Lexus and Jaguar in its lot.

Alongside the Subaru, Jeep, and Honda Element and Dodge Stratus, it was quite the cheek-by-jowl lineup in this modest neighborhood joint. Inside, not since the 1980s have you heard so many Kansas songs on the soundtrack, and anybody who eats the burger platter isn’t going to be going anywhere for awhile.

I mean, seriously: that thing looked like it should come with a prescription.

The Hague campaign signs, in their trademark orchid color, were the only sign of the candidate as the election night sneaked in under the Tuesday-night-as-usual feel of the night.

“She’s been playing it low-key,” said a Hague staffer on hand with his girlfriend.
