Female inmate found dead in Snohomish County Jail

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an inmate at the Snohomish County Jail.

The inmate, a 27-year-old woman, failed to wake up this morning when corrections staff visited her cell to hand out medication, the Sheriff’s Office said. Medics responded and confirmed she was dead.

The woman, an Everett resident, was booked into the jail on Oct. 29 on prostitution and drug charges.

Overnight cell checks by corrections officers revealed nothing unusual or suspicious about the woman, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The cause of death and identity of the victim will be made by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
