Man killed in crash this morning in Maltby

UPDATE:

Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies say that a man who died yesterday after his pickup went down an embankment in Maltby is a 52-year-old Snohomish man.

The man had been required to have an ignition interlock device attached to his vehicle but he did not have one, said sheriff’s spokesman Bureau Chief Kevin Prentiss. Deputies are still investigating the cause of the crash.

A man was killed this morning when his pickup went down an embankment in Maltby.

The single-vehicle accident happened around 9:30 a.m. in the 20700 block of Yew Way, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The pickup was traveling south on Yew Way when it left the roadway, struck several trees and rolled down an embankment, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
