Sheriff's Office moving Maple Valley, Kenmore precincts

The King County Sheriff’s Office is moving two of its precincts into other buildings to save money.

Precincts in Maple Valley and Kenmore will be shutting down on Dec. 5 to prepare for the move. While deputies will remain on patrol in each area, the precincts will not be open to the public until after the move is complete, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindi West.

The Maple Valley Precinct will now share an office with the City of Covington. The new Maple Valley precinct is expected to open by Jan. 1.

The Kenmore Precinct will move to Sammamish City Hall; it will be open by Feb. 1.

Residents of Maple Valley hoping to apply for concealed-weapons permits and be fingerprinted are asked to go to Sheriff’s Office precincts in SeaTac and Burien. The services are provided by appointment only.

The SeaTac Precinct, at 4800 S. 188th St., can be reached at 206-973-4900. The precinct in Burien is at 14905 6th Ave. S.W., or 206-296-3333.

Residents of Kenmore are asked to go to the precinct in Shoreline.

Fingerprinting and concealed weapons permits are handled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, by appointment only. The Shoreline precinct is at 1206 N. 185th St.  Appointments can be made by calling 206-801-2710.
