The Morning Memo / Thursday: Missing boy and a TV episode, 11-11-11, sunny today, mountain snow tomorrow

Weather: It was 62 degrees yesterday. Can’t beat that. It’s supposed to be sunny and 58 today, but we’re betting that we’ll reach 60 degrees or better again. Well, tomorrow is another story… rain, wind and snow in the mountains. The details from the National Weather Service.

We’re sure you already know this, but we want to say it anyway: Tomorrow’s date is 11-11-11. So there.

The Bellevue missing-boy story gets more puzzling by the day. Police have even viewed a television episode of “Law & Order” that has similarities to the disappearance of 2-year-old Sky Metalwala. From our story today:

The episode centers on a young couple whose car is stolen on Halloween with their toddler son inside.

Ronda Reynolds

The former husband of the woman whose 1998 death was ruled a homicide last month is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. today, breaking his silence after 13 years. Ron Reynolds, along with one of his sons, Jonathan, was named as a suspect in the death of Ronda Reynolds by an inquest jury on Oct. 19. Ron Reynolds will dispute witness testimony — which included hearsay and conjecture — that came forth in Lewis County Coroner Warren McLeod’s seven-day inquest into Reynolds’ death in mid-October, attorney Rick Cordes said.

A court-martial jury at Joint Base Lewis-McChord could return a verdict as soon as Thursday in the trial of a soldier charged with murder in the slaying of three civilians in Afghanistan. Prosecutors says Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs led a team that killed three unarmed Afghans early last year and then dropped weapons near the bodies to make them appear to be combatants.

There are many, many trails through old-growth forests and gorgeous settings at Seward Park in Seattle, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
