The Morning Memo / Tuesday: Phoenix Jones, knife on ferry, stolen dough returned

Weather: There’s an 80 percent chance of rain today, but there should be some sun, followed by days of fog and sun, fog and sun and fog and sun. Did you catch the word sun in there? We’re talking sun through next Monday. Not too shabby. The forecast details.

Traffic: The map and the cams.

Out and about, once more: KING 5 has the story: Phoenix Jones to the rescue … again

A man was seen struggling in the Puyallup River in Tacoma on Monday, but searchers couldn’t find him. The search has been suspended, The News Tribune in Tacoma reports.

Too much drink, a knife and a ferry: A man with a very high blood alcohol level pulled a knife on the crew of the Seattle-Bremerton ferry over the weekend, but crew members soon got the upper hand, according to a story in the Kitsap Sun.

You have to love the KING 5 story of the man who recently returned money he says he stole from the Sears store in Sodo six decades ago.

The photo on the right is of a murmuration of starlings. You can find out about that and other animal group names by clicking on this link to our Field Notes blog entry by Lynda Mapes.
