The Morning Memo / Wednesday: Playin' hookey, Occupy Seattle, elephant picks Wazzu

Weather: Have you noticed the rain? More is on the way, according to the Weather Service. Yikes. Today: Rain. Thanksgiving: Showers. Friday: Wait, no rain or showers. Liking it. Uh, Saturday: Rain. Sunday: Rain.

Precipitation: 100 percent, for sure, but the deluge predicted by some, not so much, thank goodness. Umbrellas and rain parkas it is. The details.

Traffic: As always, drive slow, avoid standing water, don’t shower the car next to you by driving through a giant puddle… The commute won’t be a problem for some of you because of the holiday and you’re playing hookey, i.e., not going to the office today, tomorrow or Friday, are you? The map and the web cams.

Occupy Seattle: Apparently the Seattle Community College District board of trustees is going to vote today to ban camping on college property, effectively giving Occupy Seattle no choice but to move. We’ll keep you posted.

Pregnant protester: What’s to be made of curious case of the Occupy Seattle protester who insists she had a miscarriage after being pepper sprayed and kicked by police? The most telling element is this: No evidence has emerged to support her allegation.

Elephant picks WSU to defeat UW in Apple Cup game. From The Associated Press story:

An elephant at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle has picked the Washington State University football team to defeat Washington in the Apple Cup game.

The zoo says the pachyderm prognosticator named Chai (chy) was given a choice of football-shaped treats Tuesday and wrapped her trunk around the crimson and gray snack representing the WSU Cougars.
