Everett woman shoots husband in head, police say

An Everett man is in critical condition after his wife shot him, police say.

Neighbors called police as the couple fought inside their apartment in the 2500 block of Chestnut Street, just north of downtown, at about 5:30 p.m., Officers were told by dispatch that a woman called to  say she shot her husband in the head, according to Sgt. Robert Goetz. The man was found wounded inside the apartment.

The 42-year-old husband was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center. The 30-year-old wife was being interviewed by detectives, who did not confirm a motive or make any charging recommendations as of 8:30 p.m.  The woman appeared unhurt but was taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.
