Man drives around with wife who died, unsure if he could cross the border to Canada

There is not points to locate on the map

The Wenatchee World has a sad story of a 71-year-old Canadian man who didn’t know what to do when his wife died sitting in the car seat next to him and he drove around more than 200 miles before he was convinced to stop at the police station in Tonasket for help.

The man, who was on vacation with his wife, 75, in Oregon, apparently was uncertain about crossing the border into Canada with her.

“He wasn’t sure what to do, so he kept driving,”  Tonasket Police Chief Robert Burks told The Wenatchee World.

Burks said the couple was trying to get home to Oliver, B.C. when the man’s wife died near Pasco.
