Hwy. 599 reopened after pedestrian was struck, killed
A man crossing northbound Highway 599 on foot just south of Highway 99 in Tukwila was struck and killed by a car around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the Washington State Patrol said.
The pedestrian, who appeared to be in his late 40s or early 50s, was in the left or inside traffic lane when he was hit, Trooper George Englebright said. His identity was not immediately available.
There was no evidence or alcohol or drugs, the State Patrol said.
All lanes of Highway 599 were closed for about two hours after the accident, but reopened around 9 p.m.. Traffic was being diverted to Highway 99, Englebright said.
