The Morning Memo/Monday: Britney Spears, missing boy, there goes the sun

Weather: Whoa, it’s freezing out there. Temperatures hovering around 30, 31, 32. Brrrr. Otherwise, fog this morning (as if you didn’t already know). Fog tomorrow. Cloudy Wednesday. It might actually get sunny for a bit later today. Wasn’t that sun great yesterday? Temperature near freezing overnight tonight, though. What is this, December? The details.

Traffic: Might be some freezing fog out there this morning in some places, so watch out. The map and cams.

Missing boy’s sister: A hearing is scheduled this morning to determine who will have custody of the 4-year-old sister of Sky Metalwala of Redmond. Sky has been missing for a month now. His sister, who had been in her mother’s care, was placed with the state after the boy went missing. The father has been trying to get custody of his daughter. The parents are involved in a divorce and child custody dispute. The search for the boy continues.

Early sunset: The earliest one of year occurs today. Staff reporter Lynda Mapes is covering the story. More to come.

Britney Spears birthday wish? Now ain’t that nice … Students at Central Washington University sent the pop star Happy Birthday greetings via video and she tweeted, “Thanks y’all, now go back to studying. LOL.” Story by KOMO TV.
