Bellevue council names new mayor

The Bellevue City Council has  unanimously elected councilmember Conrad Lee as mayor.

Lee, was born in China and moved to Bellevue in 1967. He is the first ethnic minority to serve as mayor of that city.

He replaces Councilmember Don Davidson, whose two-year term as mayor expired at the end of 2011.

Lee, who previously served as deputy mayor, was first elected to the council in 1994 and was re-elected to a fifth term in 2009.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Washington.

He and his wife, Winnie, have two adult children.

The council also voted unanimously to elect Jennifer Robertson as deputy mayor.
