King County cops arrest 960 during DUI patrols

King County law enforcement officers arrested 960 suspected drunken drivers during holiday DUI patrols from Nov. 24 through Jan. 2., according to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.

Statewide, there were 3,812 DUI arrests.

Last year, King County officers  made 876 DUI arrests during the same holiday period, according to the commission.

Participating law enforcement agencies included the State Patrol, as well as police from Auburn, Bellevue, Black Diamond, Burien, Clyde Hill, Covington, Des Moines, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Issaquah, Kent, Kirkland, Maple Valley, Mercer Island, Normandy Park, North Bend, Pacific, Redmond, Renton, Sammamish, SeaTac, Seattle, Snoqualmie and Tukwila.
